Arizona Coyotes player player arrested in Scottsdale

An Arizona Coyotes hockey player was arrested in Scottsdale. 

Scottsdale police said 27-year-old Richard Panik was arrested for trespassing. The hockey player reportedly refused to leave the entrance of a local restaurant on April 8 at 8:50 p.m. 

According to police, Panik appeared to be intoxicated during his contact with officers. 

Panik was booked into Scottsdale City Jail for criminal trespass and later released with a criminal citation. 

The 27-year-old played 37 games during the 2017-2018 season with the Chicago Blackhawks before being traded to the Arizona Coyotes. He played 35 games with Arizona. 

The Arizona Coyotes released the following statement to Scripps station KNXV in Phoenix:

“We are aware of the incident and are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation.  We will have no further comment at the present time.”
