2 people arrested after 21 dogs rescued from alleged dog fighting ring in Detroit

DETROIT, Mich. -- Two people are in custody and nearly two dozen dogs were rescued after police and the Michigan Humane Society (MHS) busted an alleged dog fighting ring at a Detroit home on Tuesday.

According to police, it happened on Abington Avenue on the city's west side.

Police tell WXYZ that the two people were arrested at the scene and that MHS took away 21 dogs from the scene. Their conditions are not known.

Police also said there was paraphernalia consistent with dog fighting found at the home.
