Colorado theater shooter James Holmes has been transferred to another prison, but officials have not said where or why.
Adrienne Jacobson, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Corrections, told the Colorado Springs Gazette on Tuesday that Holmes was moved from the San Carlos Correctional Facility in Pueblo. She declined to say if he was taken to another state.
Before he was in the Pueblo facility, Holmes was housed in the Colorado State Penitentiary in Canon City, where he was heavily supervised. He had more contact with other inmates at the San Carlos Correctional Facility.
Holmes opened fire in a crowded movie theater in Aurora in 2012, killing 12 people and injuring 70 others. He was sentenced in August to 12 consecutive life terms.
