Friends and family are mourning the death of a 39-year-old man who was killed in a skiing accident at Beaver Creek Resort.
The Vail Daily reports (http://goo.gl/qRNhxO ) Sam Beall, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was pronounced dead at a hospital after the accident on an intermediate run Thursday. Details of the accident have not been released but according to The Denver Post, a report says there was an "incident on an intermediate trail."
Beall owned Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee, a luxury hotel and event destination in the Great Smoky Mountains. He is survived by his wife and their five children.
Blackberry Farm released a statement saying many who knew Beall were touched by his friendship, hospitality and adventurous spirit.
A memorial will be held Tuesday afternoon at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church in Knoxville.
