More solar-powered LEDs being installed on I-70

Posted

Solar-powered LED lights are being installed to mark the lanes of Interstate 70 eastbound from the Eisenhower tunnel.

The "solar pucks" are similar to the ones already embedded in the road along I-70 at Floyd Hill. The Colorado Department of Transportation said it received positive feedback about the lights on Floyd Hill.

It is a $75,000 project that is expected to be completed during the early part of this month.

"We have a very limited window in which we can get work completed on the corridor and we're taking full advantage of warmer weather to do so," said CDOT's Paul Jesaitis in a statement posted by the I-70 Mountain Corridor Coalition.
