BUENA VISTA, Colo. -- An out-of-state hiker died climbing Mount Harvard this week.
Eric Poehlman, 46, of Vermont, was reported missing Wednesday evening after he did not return from a day hike. A search team found the man's body Thursday at 3:15 a.m. just below the summit at about 14,200 feet.
A team of hikers stayed with Poehlman's body until sunrise when a helicopter ferried him back to Buena Vista.
There were no apparent injuries that would suggest a cause of death and foul play is not suspected, according to the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office. However, a autopsy will be performed to determine Poehlman's cause of death.
