How much snow did Colorado's ski resorts get from storms over the past week?

Posted

DENVER – After a dry, warm start to skiing and snowboarding season in Colorado, several storms that moved through the state over the past week dumped snow in the mountains and boosted morale in what had so far been a disappointing season.

The snow totals from the storms were impressive; several resorts got more than a foot over the past week, while three resorts got more than 2 feet.

Check out some of the snow totals at the 15 resorts currently open in Colorado:

  • Wolf Creek: 28 inches (past week)
  • Telluride: 27 inches (past week)
  • Aspen Snowmass: 25 inches (past week)
  • Steamboat: 20 inches (past week)
  • Winter Park: 20 inches (past week)
  • Crested Butte: 17 inches (past week)
  • Breckenridge: 16 inches (past week)
  • Purgatory: 15 inches (past week)
  • Beaver Creek: 15 inches (past week)
  • Copper Mountain: 13 inches (past week)
  • Vail: 13 inches (past week)
  • Loveland: 12 inches (past three days)
  • Keystone: 10 inches (past week)
  • Arapahoe Basin: 8 inches (past three days)
  • Eldora: 3 inches (past three days)

Many of the ski areas only have a few lifts and runs open at this time as they continue to make snow and wait for more of the natural stuff, but below-freezing temperatures and continuing snow showers are expected over the next week in the mountains.

Several more Colorado ski areas are scheduled to open over the next month:

  • Monarch (Dec. 2)
  • Sunlight (Dec. 9)
  • Ski Cooper (Dec. 10)
  • Buttermilk (Dec. 10)
  • Aspen Highlands (Dec. 10)
  • Powderhorn (Dec. 15)
  • Silverton (Dec. 29)
