DENVER – What better way to burn those Thanksgiving dinner calories than by skiing or snowboarding down a slope?

If you’re not planning on participating on the Black Friday craze, then head out to either Aspen Mountain, Crested Butte, Snowmass Mountain or Wolf Creek – all four opened for the 2017-2018 season this Thursday.

At Wolf Creek, the Treasure, Bonanza, Raven and Nova lifts started operations at 4 p.m. The ski resort is also offering Ski School lessons for both adults and children, including the Wolf Pup Program with the Magic Carpet running for lessons.

Aspen Mountain will be open through April 15, 2018, along with Snowmass Mountain.

Crested Butte will be open through April 8, 2018.

Eldora Mountain Resort officials said they’re “working hard to open either Saturday or Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.”

Arapahoe Basin was the first resort to open to the public this year.
