DENVER -- A company affiliated with Kroenke Sports and Entertainment closed on the well-known Writer Square building at Larimer and 16th Street for a grand total of $96 million, city officials confirmed.

The group which purchased the building is listed on record as GKT Writer Square LLC. Its publicly listed address is 211 North Stadium Boulevard in Missouri, the same location as Kroenke Sports & Entertainment's Missouri offices.

Publicly listed as the contact for the holding company is Bruce Glazer, the Executive Vice President and CFO of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.

The Kroenke family owns the Pepsi Center, the Colorado Avalanche, the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Rams.

It hasn't yet released any information on why it may have moved to purchase the large building with both office and retail space.

Writer Square is an iconic building, constructed in 1980, that is fresh off a recent renovation. The building boasts roughly 60,000 feet of retail space.
