March is Women's History Month, and here at Denver7 we're changing the conversation and calling it: Women Changing History Month. Throughout March, we'll be highlighting female leaders in Colorado who are working in primarily male-dominated industries. That includes everything from finance, technology to firefighting and the ski industry.
This month is all about showing other women and girls that it is possible to work in any industry, by looking at role models they have all around them. Of course, we're not ignoring the statistics. With 2.2% of funding nationwide going to female companies and 87% of female-run businesses not growing past one employee.
We also want to provide resources to women who might want to start a business, change careers or get into a leadership position. The Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce is one of those resources. Click here to learn about their leadership program and here to see what else they can help you with.
All month long we'll be adding to this article with more resources and contact info for women that we've featured so you can reach out and find out how you can do whatever you set your mind to.
