WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Police say a woman with a traumatic brain injury who went missing in Westminster has been located.

Patricia Blenis, 49, was seen at a hospital and released after being examined Thursday morning, according to the Westminster Police Department. Police said after investigating further and interviewing Blenis' family, officers determined Blenis is able to care for herself.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, the police department received a call that Patricia Blenis had wandered away from the 8600 block of Sheridan Boulevard.

The day before, police had found her walking around the area of 72nd Avenue and Osceola Street. Police contacted her family and she was taken home.

Blenis contacted police on Wednesday and told them she was lost and did not know how to get home. Police reached out to her family and, at their request, officers drove her to a restaurant along the 8600 block of Sheridan Boulevard and left. When family arrived to pick her up, they could not find her.

After spending the day looking for her, the family reported her missing.

Police said they would still like to speak to Blenis and anyone with information on her whereabouts should call 303-658-4360.

Blenis is a white female, standing about 5 feet, 11 inches and weighing about 170 pounds. She has auburn hair, brown eyes and tracheotomy scar. Due to her brain injury, she walks slowly, is easily confused and has short-term memory loss.
