Woman sought in Colorado Springs rental scheme with over 40 victims

Posted

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Police are looking for a woman who they say stole more than $95,000 in rental payments from more than 40 victims.

Investigators say Holly Dalton, 44, ran the elaborate scheme using the property management firms Premiere Properties and Encore Properties LLC, which she owned.

According to police, she stole money paid by tenants that was meant to be passed along to landlords for damage deposits and rental payments.

Police say Dalton would role the payments in a lapping scheme where she would pay some landlords keeping the receipts from others for several months then pay the missed payments using the monies meant for other landlords.

Dalton was not able to keep the missing rental payments current and as a result would fall behind causing the lapping scheme to fall apart, according to police.

Dalton has an warrant out for her arrest. She is described as a 5-feet-4-inch tall white female. She is 115 pounds with blond hair and brown eyes.
