A woman was hit by a bus at Broadway and East Colfax Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

Initially, Denver Police said the woman was trying to get off the bus and was struck. Investigators later said the woman had been crossing the street when she was hit.

The woman did not appear to be seriously hurt, Raquel Lopez with DPD told Denver7.

Lanes were closed in the area while police investigated who was responsible for the accident, said Nate Currey with RTD.

The driver of the bus was not arrested, however, another bus driver was brought in to take over the bus, Denver7 Photojournalist Cory Reppenhagen reported from the scene.

Just last Tuesday, a pedestrian was hit by an RTD bus a block away, at West 14th Avenue and Broadway.

The woman in that accident was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

She was later cited by police for causing the accident, according Scott Reed, a spokesman for the Regional Transportation District.
