DENVER — A woman died following a shooting Monday morning at 22nd Street and Arapahoe Street in Denver.
The Denver Police Department said it received calls about the shooting starting around 6:20 a.m.
Nate Magee with the Denver Police Department said a woman was wounded and transported to a hospital. She was pronounced deceased later in the morning.
During the investigation, police identified a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. The man, identified as Jeremiah Rashad Kendrick, was arrested in Kansas on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop, police said. He is now being held for investigation of first-degree murder in connection to the Denver shooting.
The woman was identified on Thursday as Rashelle Blevins, 37, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wound and manner was homicide, the office said.
