AURORA, Colo. — A 28-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder after Aurora police investigated a stabbing Saturday evening.
The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office identified the suspect as Erica Kentrell Lamar Daniel. Daniel faces one count of first-degree murder after deliberation and was advised of the charge on Wednesday afternoon in Adams County Court, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
The stabbing occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the 2300 block of N. Emporia Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man on the floor of an apartment, suffering from a stab wound to his chest. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.
He has since been identified as 32-year-old David Allen Cochran, according to the district attorney’s office.
After the stabbing, police said they had identified a person of interest and believed it was an isolated incident.
Daniel’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday in Adams County District Court.
