LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. -- A woman attacked during a campout with a friend managed to get to a nearby campsite and ask for help.
The woman, and a male companion, were camping at the Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp off Pingree Park Road west of Fort Collins Saturday when they had a disagreement, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman said the man jumped on top of her and tried to stab her twice. She ended up with cuts on her arms.
When deputies arrived, they took the woman and the suspect, Travis Nilles, 28, to the hospital. The woman was treated and released.
Nilles was treated then arrested on suspicion of assault, menacing and obstruction of a telephone/telegraph service, deputies said.
