WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A woman accused of shooting at law enforcement officers at a hotel in Weld County last week has been charged, officials said.

Sarah Jesser, 41, was charged with one count of criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree, according to the Weld County District Attorney's Office.

Authorities said Jesser shot toward a Weld County deputy and two Firestone police officers at an Econo Lodge off the Interstate 25 Frontage Road in Longmont. The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. on Feb. 13. A Weld County sheriff's deputy was passing the motel when he saw a license plate associated with a wanted suspect. The deputy called for assistance and two officers from Firestone responded and contacted the suspect in a hotel room.

Shots were fired, and Jesser was injured during the incident. No officers were injured.

Jesser was charged on Friday, and a judge set her bond at $1 million. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 23.
