AURORA, Colo. — A tip from a person who recognized a vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash led to the arrest of a woman in Aurora.
Police said the witness saw a 2002 Toyota Camry in an alley in the 1400 block of Ironton Street near an auto repair shop Friday morning and called authorities.
The adult female suspect was arrested later in the day. Police have declined to identify the suspect until formal charges are filed, an Aurora Police Department release read.
The silver Camry is registered to an address in Aurora and is linked to a Wednesday evening crash at the intersection of East Mountview Boulevard and Elmira Street.
Police said the driver struck and killed an elderly pedestrian and then took off. Authorities issued a Medina Alert for the driver the next day. It has since been canceled.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
