Denver Police are trying to figure out who shot the windows out of several units of the Acoma Luxury Apartments on Acoma Street and West 8th Avenue.

The shooting happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.  Police said windows were shot out of 4 units.

Resident Sanford Greenberg woke up after a bullet shattered the window by his bed, and lodged in the wall in the corner of his bedroom.

"[It came} within a matter of feet.  Two feet, maybe 48 inches, If I would've been sitting on the edge of the bed, I would've been hit," Greenberg said.

Greenberg said he initially thought the noise was ice falling from the building, but woke up to find his window shattered and shrapnel on his carpet.

"It's scary and it's dangerous.  When bullets can come through a window, not just one, but three, four, five units, there could've been multiple people hurt, hit, killed.  I think there's a bigger conversation we need to be having," Greenberg said.

Denver 7 checked on security cameras across the street from Charcoal, but an employee there said they weren't pointing in the right direction and didn't catch the suspects on tape.  Denver Police said at this point they don't have any suspects.
