FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Colorado wildlife officials are investigating the deaths of thousands of fish in the Cache La Poudre (cash la POO'-dur) River in Fort Collins.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported Friday the fish kill was first reported on Sept. 21.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesman Jason Clay says agency aquatic biologists are considering all possible causes.
The agency says the dead fish number in the thousands but hasn't compiled a more specific estimate.
Officials haven't said when the investigation will be complete.
