DENVER – The first day of August marks the beginning of the end of summer vacation for thousands of students in the Denver area.
School districts across the Front Range are preparing for the first day of classes, some of which will see students as early as Tuesday.
While most kids can breathe a sigh of relief -- the majority of schools won’t open for a couple of weeks -- that day is coming up quickly!
Here’s a complete list of school start dates for the area’s biggest school districts:
Adams 12: August 16 (K-9), August 17 (all students)
Adams 14: August 14
Aurora Public Schools: August 8 (grades 6-12), August 10 (grades 1-5), August 14 (kindergarten, preschool)
Boulder Valley: August 16 (grades 1-5, 6 & 9), August 17 (grades 7, 8, 10-12), August 18 and 21 (kindergarten staggered start)
Brighton 27j: August 16 (high schools), August 17 (elementary, middle schools), August 21 (kindergarten)
Cherry Creek: August 14 (most schools, including all middle schools)
Clear Creek School District: August 21
Denver Public Schools: August 21 (most schools)
Douglas County School District: August 10 (most schools)
Elizabeth School District: August 18 (grades 6 and 9), August 21 (EMS and EHS), August 24 (elementary)
Englewood Schools: August 10
JEFFCO Public Schools: August 17
Littleton Public Schools: August 17
Mapleton Public Schools: August 14 (most schools)
Sheridan School District No. 2: August 2
Westminster Public Schools: August 15 (most schools), August 21 (pre-k and kindergarten)
