GOLDEN, Colo. — A Westminster man is facing more than a dozen charges for allegedly sexually assaulting multiple women in Jefferson County in the last six months.

On Friday, District Attorney Pete Weir filed 18 charges against Joseph Vaneck, 32, including multiple counts of sexual assault, kidnapping, second-degree assault and menacing.

According to the First Judicial District Attorney's Office, a woman accused Vaneck of picking her up in Denver, driving her into the foothills west of the city and sexually assaulting her. Three more women reported to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office similar experiences after being picked up in Denver or Lakewood in August and September.

Vaneck has been held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $1 million bond since his arrest two weeks ago. He's scheduled to appear in court Oct. 1 for a preliminary hearing.

Investigators believe there could be more victims. Anyone with information can contact the Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 303-271-5612 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
