JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. -- West Metro Fire Rescue reports a grass fire on near Golden is 90 percent contained.
The fire started Tuesday night when lightning struck an area on South Table Mountain, east of Golden.
The fire burned about 29 acres on Tuesday night.
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory was evacuated Tuesday evening when the fire started.
570 nearby residents received a reverse 911 call telling them to be prepared for evacuation. Fortunately, there were no evacuations.
