The smell of fall is in the air and soon the smell and sight of bratwurst, beer and lederhosen will waft among the falling leaves.

Those smells should lead to one of many Oktoberfest events going on this weekend around Colorado, but which ones should be on the to-do list?

Here is a list of some of the festivals to check out:

Steamboat Springs Oktoberfest
This festival has a western twist. Over 20 Colorado brews, instead of German beer, will be on hand. The two-day festival offers live music and a cruiser parade. It runs from Sep. 16 to 17.

Autumn Gold Brats & Beer - Estes Park
This is a family-friendly event, but don’t worry, there will be plenty of festival fare on hand. It will also offer live music and events for the kids. It starts Sep. 17 and runs until Sep. 18. It will be held at Bond Park.

Pueblo Oktoberfest
This festival has all the traditions: German food, music and beer! Keg tapping starts at 6 p.m. Friday Sep. 16 and goes until Saturday Sep. 17. Admission is $5 at the door but free if you are wearing a costume. It will be held at 132 W. “B” Street.

Loveland Oktoberfest
This event features local beer. Pull out your favorite dirndl and lederhosen from the closet for a chance to win the costume contest. It will be Friday from 3:00 – 9:00 PM and Saturday from 12:00 – 9:00 PM at 623 Denver Ave. Loveland, CO 80537. The event is free to attend and all ages are welcome.

Here are some upcoming festivals you shouldn’t miss.

Colorado Springs Oktoberfest
This festival has everything Coloradans love: beer, dogs, and running! The three-day festival kicks off Sep. 23 and goes until Sep. 25. It offers a 5k, Dachshund Dash, a brat eating contest, and plenty of beer! It will be held at Security Service Field (Sky Sox Stadium), 4385 Tutt Blvd.

Denver Oktoberfest
Rated the “The Best Oktoberfest in the USA,” this four-day festival begins in September! Starting Sep. 23 and going through Oct. 2, the Denver Oktoberfest features entertainment, music and a doggy derby. The festival will be located between 20th St and 22nd St on Larimer St in the Ballpark Neighborhood.
