DENVER — The Colorado State Patrol and the family of State Trooper William Moden are mourning the loss of an “amazing human” after he was hit and killed on Interstate 70 in eastern Colorado late Friday night.

Moden is the second Colorado State trooper to die in the line of duty this year. On March 13, Corporal Daniel Groves, 52, was struck and killed while assisting a driver who had slid off I-76 amid a blizzard.

There are multiple ways you can give to support Moden’s family and honor the fallen trooper.

For those who would like to leave flowers, cards or anything else for Trooper Moden, his CSP patrol vehicle is parked in front of his office at 8200 US 85 in Commerce City.

If you would like to donate funds, you can give to the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation and select the "Moden Family Fund."

You can also donate to the Adoption Exchange in Trooper Moden’s name.

The Colorado State Patrol is reminding the community that they will never call you asking for donations.
