A water outage led to the early release of students at Sierra Middle School in Parker on Thursday.
A water pump failure caused the water outage for the entire school, said Paula Hans, spokeswoman for the Douglas County School District.
"To ensure the comfort and safety of our students and staff," school was dismissed at 12 p.m., Hans said in a news release.
"Students who ride the bus will be transported to their normal bus stop. Those who normally walk home will be allowed to leave at early dismissal time. Parents who normally pick up their students may do so now. Staff will remain at the school until all students are picked up," Hans said.
All activities, including those scheduled for after school and Thursday night, have been canceled.
