DENVER — The water main break on Colorado Boulevard at Mississippi Avenue has been repaired, but Denver Water crews will continue to work at the site through most of Thursday.

The break was reported around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The break, and subsequent hole, was in the southbound lanes of Colorado Boulevard between E. Kentucky Avenue and E. Mississippi Avenue. At 5:50 a.m. Thursday, Denver Water said repairs were made to the 12-inch water pipe and water had been restored by 4:30 a.m. However, road work will continue through the morning.

All lanes should reopen in time for afternoon rush hour, Denver Water said.

Overnight, the southbound side was narrowed down to one lane. This will remain the case through Thursday morning and early afternoon.

Three businesses were without water as a result of the water main break.
