BOULDER, Colo. – Ahead of the release of its new documentary on the death of 6-year-old Boulder beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, Netflix has released a new trailer for the film.
Netflix has been tight-lipped about the content of 'Casting JonBenet,' but producer Mitch Dickman told Denver7 the film is a “unique” hybrid of documentary and fiction formats, telling the story from the perspective of people who are auditioning for the roles of those involved in the case.
It’s been 20 years since JonBenet Ramsey was found dead in the basement of her parents’ home and director Kitty Green set out to use local actors to help tell the story from their own perspectives.
The trailer’s synopsis calls the film a “darkly moving exploration of crime, guilt and personal bias.”
‘Casting JonBenet’ premieres on Netflix April 28.
