‘Walk Like MADD' Saturday in Denver to combat drunk driving

DENVER —  A group will walk along Sloan's Lake in remembrance of DUI victims and in honor of survivors on Saturday.

"Walk Like MADD" Denver participants will join with thousands of people in more than 60 cities around the nation in a 5K event to eliminate drunk driving. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is organizing events around the country.

You can help MADD eliminate drunk driving by signing up for the Walk Like MADD event near you as a walker, team captain, or volunteer. You can even be involved without attending the event by signing up as a virtual walker or making a donation to another walker or team.

The walk runs from 8 a.m. - noon on Saturday, August 5. Walkers will meet at Sloan's Lake Park near the intersection of 17th Ave. & Utica St.
