FIRESTONE, Colo. — Days after family members confirmed the identities of two victims from a home explosion in Firestone, the Weld County Coroner's office confirmed their identities.
Officials said the identities of the two victims of the April 17 explosion and home fire on Twilight Avenue were Mark Joseph Martinez, 42, and Joseph William Irwin, III, 42, of Frederick.
Although autopsies have been completed, the results of those autopsies won't be available for roughly four to six weeks.
A day after the April 17 explosion, the bodies of the two victims — who had been named missing — were pulled from the wreckage of the home.
They weren't the only casualties, with a woman and juvenile male being rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulance. They are continuing to recover in the hospital.
Erin Martinez, Mark Martinez's spouse, was the adult victim. She's well known in her community for being a science teacher at Mountain Range High School.
