DENVER -- A fatal hit and run crash on Colorado Boulevard at I-70 led to the death of a local woman and involved four other vehicles.

Officials announced Wednesday the victim is identified as 28-year-old Ariel Berryman. She died of blunt for trauma suffered in the crash.

Police in Denver, who investigated the crash on Monday night, say four vehicles were involved after a suspect caused the crash and ran from the scene on foot.

A later call to emergency medical services matched the description of the suspect, so police and first responders responded to treat the person for injuries. They located him at City Park, taking him into custody while he was nude in the park's lake. His clothes were located nearby.

The suspect, who has yet to be identified, is a Tennessee resident, and wasn't yet employed in Denver.

Police say they continue to delve into the investigation, but announced they believe speed was a major factor.

Data will be downloaded from the suspect's car and submitted to the District Attorney's office.
