Vice President Joe Biden will be in Colorado next month to fundraise for Senator Michael Bennet, a Democratic source tells Denver7's Marshall Zelinger.
Biden is scheduled to be in the Denver area on April 8 for an event with Bennet.
The White House hasn't given official details, but one of a dozen Republicans vying to become Bennet's November opponent, leaked a copy of the invitation saying the event will happen that evening. Former State Rep. Jon Keyser's tweet quips that Pres. Obama's appearance is "to be determined."
An email blast from Keyser's camp uses the invitation to link Bennet to Obama:
“We look forward to hearing President Biden and Senator Bennet discuss their support for giving Iran $150 billion dollars, closing Guantanamo Bay, and the “Biden Rule” on confirming Supreme Court Justices after a presidential election,” said Keyser Communications Director Matt Connelly. “Since Michael Bennet has voted with President Obama 98% of the time, we fully expect President Obama to attend and will have a commemorative rubber stamp made for Michael Bennet to present to the President upon his arrival.”
Jon Keyser wrongly says Bennet wants to bring Gitmo terrorists to Colorado
Bennet's team hasn't yet commented on Biden's visit.
Denver7 is getting more details about the event.
