Denver7 has learned that a veteran Colorado nurse named Thomas Mark Moore, 43, has been accused of sexually touching or making advances on at least 11 women at hospital emergency rooms in this state and Nebraska.
A major revelation occurred Monday when court records obtained by Denver7 showed that Greeley police have identified seven women, five of whom accuse Moore of groping them. A fifth woman said the nurse tried to touch her breasts but she shoved his hands away. The seventh woman said Moore didn't touch her sexually but he was "very flirtatious" and sent her a Facebook friend request later. Other alleged victims say the nurse tried to friend them on Facebook.
Nurse Thomas Moore charged in second sexual contact case
Greeley police arrested Moore on Friday night on investigation of six counts of felony unlawful sexual contact. He remained in Weld County Jail Monday with bond is set at $100,000.
Fort Collins police initially arrested Moore on Dec. 21, and they accuse him of sexually touching two female patients at Poudre Valley Hospital. The Fort Collins investigation led investigators to identify victims in Greeley and Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Fort Collins investigators, believing there were other victims, publicized the case last month. News reports about Moore's arrest caused several of the victims from the UCHealth Greeley Emergency and Surgery Center to contact Fort Collins police, who notified the Greeley Police Department.
Breakdown by community:
- Fort Collins: Police have identified two alleged victims who say Moore groped them at Poudre Valley Hospital.
- Greeley: A total of 7 women have been identified, including 5 who say Moore sexually touched them while they were patients at UCHealth Greeley Emergency and Surgery Center or Northern Colorado Medical Center. Of the two remaining women, one said Moore tried to touch her breasts but she pushed his hands away. The other woman say Moore didn't touch her sexually but he was "very flirtatious" and sent her a Facebook friend request later. Other alleged victims say the nurse tried to friend them on Facebook.
- On Monday, a Greeley police arrest affidavit identified three new women who said Moore had groped them and a fourth who said the nurse had flirted with her and tried to friend her on Facebook. A Greeley detective wrote in the affidavit that he first heard of Moore in 2005 when a female patient told him the nurse had touched her vagina after she went to Northern Colorado Medical Center seeking treatment for a wound on her leg. But the detective stated that he was unable to substantiate the 2005 incident and the case was closed.
- Scottsbluff, Nebraska: Two women accuse Moore of touching them sexually at Regional West Medical Center.
Moore was fired from UCHealth Greeley Emergency and Surgery Center in June 2015, according to UCHealth, an umbrella organization for the Greeley emergency center, Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies.
A UCHealth spokeswoman said the organization reported Moore to the Colorado Board of Nursing in June. But the board did not suspend Moore' license until Jan. 6, 2016. The board cited his arrest in the first Fort Collins case as the cause of his suspension.
