DENVER – The U.S. Forest Service will be accepting applications starting Wednesday for wildland firefighter positions across the Rocky Mountains for this summer as it looks to begin filling 900 temporary positions for the spring, summer and fall months.
The U.S. Forest Service Rocky Mountain Region says the positions will span 17 national forests and seven national grasslands throughout Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.
They will include positions in wildland firefighting, trail building and maintenance, forestry, engineering, wildlife, recreation, fisheries, archaeology and administrative support.

People looking to fill wildland firefighting positions will have to submit their applications between Jan. 4-10. A list of general fire jobs the forest service will be hiring for can be found here.
Applications for recreation, fishery, wildlife, forestry, engineering and other positions will be accepted from Feb. 1-8.
