ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Police gathered enough evidence on Friday to charge two teens with the murder of a well-known Englewood chef, a release Monday announced.

Englewood Police have been investigating the death of 33-year-old Nick Lewis since he died after an alleged robbery then shooting on Oct. 21. Lewis had been shot multiple times.

Members of the restaurateur community called the shooting senseless. Many had respect for the work Lewis did as the executive chef at Blackbird Public House in Denver.

Now two 16-year-old males face charges of first-degree murder and attempt to commit aggravated robbery. The teens had already been in police custody prior to being charged with Lewis' death.

Authorities say they plan to announce new details in the murder on Wednesday. Denver7 will follow the story.
