One person died, two were injured after building fire in west Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Poudre Fire Authority responded to a deadly multi-alarm fire Wednesday morning at a townhome complex.

The fire department arrived at 3219 Sumac Street in far west Fort Collins early Wednesday and started to extinguish the fire. One person died, the fire department said. Two people were injured, and several animals were rescued from the building.

Poudre Fire said more than a dozen people were displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
