WELD COUNTY, Colo. — Colorado Highway 66 reopened late Wednesday morning at County Road 17 near Mead several hours after a deadly crashed closed it in both directions.

Trooper Josh Lewis with Colorado State Patrol said two vehicles — a 2008 Jeep and a 2014 Ford pickup — crashed on the highway around 6:10 a.m. Both drivers died in the crash.

The driver of the truck was a 40-year-old man, Lewis said. He didn't have information on the driver of the Jeep.
