AURORA, Colo. – Two men died after shooting at each other Wednesday afternoon inside a pawn shop in Aurora, a spokesperson with the city’s police department said.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Peoria Street, near the intersection with E. 6th Avenue. Video from AIRTRACKER7 showed multiple police units outside the EZPawn shop as they investigated the crime scene.

Police responded to the pawn shop after getting a call from one of the employees. Once there, officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken a hospital where they later died from their injuries, the spokesperson said in a news release.

No one else was injured in the shooting.

Weapons were recovered at the scene and investigators will be reviewing surveillance cameras from both the inside and the outside of the pawn shop to determine what led to the shooting, police said.

The two men were identified as 26-year-old Ricardo Herrera and 28-year-old Keith Lamont Smith Jr.
