COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Police are asking for help in identifying at least two men who allegedly tried to abduct two teenage girls near Sand Creek High School Monday morning.
The attempted abduction happened at 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Blazing Trail Drive and Pony Tracks Drive.
Two 15-year-old girls were passed by a grey, older-model sedan that had either two or three men inside, police say.
The driver pulled up alongside the girls, and the passenger in the vehicle asked the girls if they wanted a ride to the high school. The girls refused, and police say the passenger in the car grabbed one of the girls’ arms and said, “Get in or else.”
The girl was able to break free of the man’s grasp, and she and her friend both ran away and called police.
Police say the car had Colorado plates with white mountains and green numbers. The driver of the car was a white, heavyset man who had short hair and was wearing a bright red shirt at the time. The passenger was described as a man in his mid-20s with short, dark hair. He was wearing a black hat and black hoodie at the time, according to police.
After the girls were able to get away and call police, they told dispatchers the car was still driving around in the neighborhood. The girls said they did not recognize either man in the car.
