MORRISON, Colo. – A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Monday, the Colorado State Patrol said.
The crash occurred near the interchange between Highway 285 and C-470 shortly before midnight. Troopers said a motorcycle and a sedan collided and the driver of the sedan left the scene on foot.
The motorcyclist, an unidentified male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers eventually caught up with the male suspect at a nearby gas station and transported him to the hospital for unknown injuries.
Highway 285 was closed in both directions for several hours due to the crash. As of 6 a.m. Monday, the highway was back open.
