GREELEY, Colo. — Police responded to the University of North Colorado Thursday morning after receiving a report that a transient was in rafters of the gym.
According to an alert from the University of North Colorado, police responded the Bank of Colorado Arena at Butler-Hancock Athletic Center Thursday morning in reference to a man who had climbed into the gym’s rafters.
The man, whom police identified as a transient, refused to come down after police tried negotiating with him, according to the alert.
The man was not armed and wasn’t considered a threat.
Police asked that people avoid the gym until further notice. Classes were not impacted. The rest of the athletic center was open.
