DENVER – Wednesday morning commuters were greeted with icy and snow-packed roads after a small snow storm dusted the Denver metro area overnight. Icy roads also plagued Interstate 70 through the mountains.
Denver-area emergency responders were working several crashes including a semi-tractor trailer spin out on I-70 that blocked lanes near Wadsworth.

In the I-70 mountain corridor, chain laws for commercial motor vehicles and traction laws were in place from just west of Denver all the way past Vail.
Road conditions has delayed the opening of at least two area high schools. Holy Family High School delayed classes one hour. Regis Jesuit High School is delayed two hours.

The snow began falling Tuesday night, causing traffic headaches for evening commuters. Around 9:15 p.m., a crash closed down westbound I-70 at Vail Pass. U.S. 6 was shut down at Loveland Pass.
