DENVER — A tornado warning was issued for parts of Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties after a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 11 miles south of Vona, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning includes northwestern Cheyenne County and southwestern Kit Carson County and goes until 6:15 p.m.
The storm is moving in a southwest direction at 15 mph.
