DENVER – Get ready, beer lovers: Tickets for general admission to the Great American Beer Festival go on sale this week.
Pre-sale tickets – limited to members of the American Homebrewers Association and the Brewers Association – went on sale Tuesday, Aug. 1. Tickets for the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
Anyone planning to attend the three-day festival should act quickly -- tickets sold out in less than two hours last year.
Admission includes a commemorative cup and unlimited 1-ounce samples of more than 3,500 beers. There are several different ticket options available, including one for designated drivers.
The festival kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Colorado Convention Center and runs through 10 p.m. on Oct. 7.
Founded in 1982, the Great American Beer Festival boasts the largest collection of domestic beers in a public tasting event, in addition to a competition between brewers. The festival awards bronze, silver and gold medals in 96 different beer categories.
