Thrifty mom: Let's go Easter shopping!

Find dresses, bunnies, and baskets at thrift store
Posted

DENVER -- If there's one item that you can always find in abundance at thrift stores, it's baskets. And this is the time of the year to buy them! Easter is such a fun holiday for thrift store shopping. There are tons of cute items on the shelves to get you into the spring mood.

The savings are amazing. At my local ARC Thrift store, I found unopened egg dye packs for 69 cents! They also had dye cups, plastic eggs, stickers and everything for my Easter egg decorating session.

In the clothing aisles, you can find plenty of gently used Easter dresses for little girls. And nice "church clothes" for boys too, complete with clip-on ties. These clothes were probably only worn once, before the kids grew out of them.

You can put together an inexpensive Easter basket for the kids with small stuffed bunnies, toys, and books. And for the adults, it's easy to find decor for your Easter dinner table, or items you could keep out all spring to freshen up the house.

Best tip of all - go to ARC stores this Saturday for the 50 percent off day. Many Easter items will be half price. At a thrift store, that means a small fraction of what they would cost brand new.
Happy Easter everyone!
