DENVER -- Thrift store enthusiasts like myself don't just shop, we also donate... a lot. And right now it's time to do some spring cleaning. ARC thrift store drivers are gearing up for a busy season, reminding people that you can have a truck come right to your door.
“Every spring, get the spring cleaning done and wife gets on me to get the stuff out on the curb for arc to pick up,” says regular ARC donor Jon Lopata.
ARC Driver Max Valdez says he stops at 80 to 100 houses during a shift. ARC estimates there are a total of 10,000 pick ups in Colorado per week, in the areas of Denver, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins.
Donors are encouraged to bag up household goods, clothes, and toys. Small appliances and furniture can also be picked up.
“I would say put it on the curb, driveways or front porch. We do put the receipt on the door handle,” says Valdez.
You can call ARC at 1-800-283-2721 or go to their website to schedule a pick up. The website also lists items that are not accepted, including TV’s, mattresses, and certain baby and child items.
