AURORA, Colo. — Due to a rare illness, a family from Nevada is stuck in Colorado.
They moved to Nevada in June, but they say because the family's Medicaid eligibility is in Colorado, they had to come back to get treatment for their 2-year-old daughter's rare illness.
Clarity Brown was diagnosed with allergies two months ago, but her symptoms got worse. She had rashes all over her body along with swollen lips and feet.
They brought her to Children's Hospital Colorado, where she was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called Kawasaki disease.
She was discharged Sunday, but the family's future is still up in the air.
"I really want to leave, but I don't know what to do," the girl's father Kenyon Brown said. "We have to follow up with the cardiologist, and he'll tell us what to do."
The Brown family lived in Denver for 10 years before moving to Nevada. They hope to meet with the cardiologist on Monday.
