BOULDER, Colo. -- Although Donald Trump Jr., the son of political candidate Donald Trump, planned to campaign for his father's presidential run at a Boulder restaurant, owners of that establishment say they weren't made aware of the move.

"Normally, organizations ask permission to use our property -- we would like to make it clear that the Trump campaign has not asked for our permission or made any attempt to contact us," representatives of Boulder's The Sink said Monday. "We did not organize or encourage this event to happen."

The restaurant, which claims it serves the best pizza and burgers in Boulder, has been featured before on the national stage. The Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" featured the shop, along with President Barack Obama in 2012.

Owners of The Sink, which has been in operation since 1923, said they want all to know their company doesn't take sides, so it won't discriminate against one party.

"We will not engage in discriminatory behavior by refusing a guest to dine with us -- we are not supportive of holding campaign events in or on our premises," the representative said.

As such, representatives of The Sink said they know the move will anger people. They're hoping they take those feelings out to the polls.

"We hope that they will direct their energy toward this very important election, and hope they view The Sink as an organization that is willing to remain accessible to all political and personal viewpoints."

Donald Trump Jr. is campaigning throughout Colorado this week for his father, as they attempt to take the White House in the Nov. 8 election.

Trump Jr. originally planned to make stops both at the Centennial Gun Club and The Sink. Eventually, his campaign decided to nix its stop at The Sink, moving to a stop at 741 Pearl Street.
