DENVER -- A 14-year old girl was shot in the foot Sunday night after her father tried to confront a group of thieves who were driving/riding in his Mercedes Benz.
Police say the victim's injury is "not life-threatening."
The dad apparently spotted the stolen car and tried to make contact with the people inside.
He told police that one of the passengers fired a gun, striking his daughter in the foot.
Investigators cordoned off a two block stretch of South Federal Boulevard between West Evans and West Iliff Avenues to process one of the scenes.
One officer yelled, "I found another shell casing," while searching the pavement with his flashlight.
At the other scene, on the 1800 block of South Wyandot, police cordoned off the area where the victim came to a stop.
Investigators tweeted that the case is still under investigation.
