AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora arrested a 16-year-old juvenile in the shooting death last week of a 20-year-old man, police announced Monday in a news release.
The juvenile suspect, whose identity is being withheld by authorities, was taken into custody Friday, one day after the fatal shooting.
The suspect is being held on investigation of manslaughter and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, police said.
The victim, Mohamed Salim, died of a gunshot wound to the head, the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office stated.
Salim was shot and killed Thursday afternoon inside an apartment unit at 13606 East 14th Avenue, according to police.
Police said no additional information related to the case will be released due to the suspect’s age.
